Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf Chairman Imran Khan and Sardar Abdul Qayyum Niazi on Tuesday held a meeting to deliberate upon the situation that emerged after Sardar Tanveer Ilyas Khan’s disqualification, the 24NewsHD TV channel. 

The full court of the Azad Kashmir High Court disqualified Prime Minister Sardar Tanvir Ilyas for a period of two years from being a member of the legislative assembly against contempt.

After today’s verdict, Sardar Ilyas has ceased to hold the office of the AJK prime minister and the legislative assembly will have to elect a new premier. 

Former prime minister Imran Khan immediately summoned Sardar Abdul Qayyum Niazi and other Kashmiri leaders to mull over the situation. 

On reaching the Kashmiris leaders in Imran Khan’s residence in Zaman Park, an important consultation on the election of the new Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir continues.  MLA Ghulam Mohiuddin Dewan is also present at the meeting.
