8 Punjabi workers killed in Iranian province of Balochistan-Sistan

Victims were resident of Bahawalpur, five workers were identified as Dilshad, Naeem, Jafar, Danish and Nasir. The involvement of banned BLA in terrorism cannot be ruled out

8 Pakistani workers were killed in Iranian province of Balochistan-Sistan on Saturday morning, reported 24NewsHDTV Channel. 

According to sources, the victims were resident of Bhawalpur distrcit in southern Punjab. The incident took place in the village of Hasabad Payin in the Iranian district of Mehrestan of the Iranian province of Balochistan and Sistan. The unknown attackers who were more than a dozen managed to escape from the scene after the attack. 

All the deceased workers were motor mechanics in a workshop. The five victims were identified as Dilshad, Naeem, Jafar, Danish and Nasir. The deceased Dilshad is said to be the owner of the motor workshop that was targeted by the terror attack. 

The deceased, Dilshad and Naeem, were father and son. The deceased belonged to Bahawalpur district of southern Punjab. The bodies have been shifted to nearby hospitals. The process of identification and verification of the citizenship of the remaining bodies is ongoing.  

A team from the Pakistani embassy has left for the Iranian province of Balochistan, Sistan and Balochistan. Pakistani embassy officials will visit the accident site and hospitals to assess the situation.

Of a total of eight Pakistanis killed in Iran, three persons namely Dilshad, his son Danish and nephew Jaffar were the residents of street number 8 of Bahawalpur’s Khanqah Sharif area. 

The families of the slain persons have appealed to the government to make arrangements for the transportation of the bodies of their loved ones as early as possible. 

The deceased had been working as motor mechanics in the area for the last 15 years. 

Naeem and Muhammad Amir, the other two victims of the ghastly act, were also the residents of Khanqah Sharif. 

Nasir was another person who was killed in the incident. He was a resident of Rangpur, Adda Shaheedan. 

He was also a motor mechanic and never returned home after leaving for Iran a year ago.

Nasir left behind his parents, a wife and five brothers to mourn his death.
