Emphasizing that a country’s progress was linked to its industrial growth, Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb on Saturday stressed the need for working jointly to achieve the objective, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Talking to the media men in Lahore, he said that the government was working for the country’s economic development. “We are ensuring the provision of incentives to investors. Our objective is to provide relief to the masses.”
The inflation rate, he added, had dropped and a reduction in the policy rate had ensured a secure environment for businesses.
The minister informed that the prices of daily items were monitored on a weekly basis.
He further said that the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) would continue to fluctuate. “There are some foreign factors for this fluctuation.”
Aurangzeb predicted an increase in exports after 2028.
He stressed the need for increasing the country’s exports.
The minister went on to say that the government was working to make the system of taxation very simple.
He advised taxpayers not to get hoodwinked by the officials demanding bribe. “The government has introduced faceless technology in Pakistan Customs. Its purpose is to tackle tax evasion and the culture of taking bribes,” he informed.
He said that the government would meet the legitimate demands of businessmen on a priority basis.
