Fast bowler Fawad Ali, who was discovered through the Karachi Kings Talent Hunt Program, made his Pakistan Super League (PSL) debut against Multan Sultans in the PSL 10 being played at National Bank Stadium Karachi on Saturday.
Hailing from the scenic Swat Valley, Fawad’s rise from local cricketing fields to the glamour of the PSL is a testament to the power of opportunity and structured development.
His journey began in 2023, when he was discovered through the Karachi Kings Talent Hunt Program held in Swat—an initiative designed to identify and nurture emerging talent from across the country.
Following his selection, Fawad received intensive training at the Karachi Academy, where he was mentored by the Kings’ seasoned coaching staff.
His consistent performance and determination earned him a place in the squad, initially as a replacement player in PSL 9 when Tim Seifert was unavailable due to national team duties.
Recognizing his potential, the franchise officially drafted Fawad into their Emerging Category during the HBL PSL 2025 Players Draft, held in January.
