PML-N leader Ataullah Tarar has submitted an application in the Lahore High Court against the proposed PTI public rally in Lahore on Aug 13, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Through his petition, Tarar made Punjab chief secretary, Lahore commissioner, DG sports and PTI respondents in the case.
The petitioner requested the court to stop the PTI from holding a public gathering in Lahore Hockey Stadium on Aug 13 as the stadium should not be used for political purposes. He said that the astro-turf of the hockey stadium was ripped because of the PTI rally.
PTI’s act of holding a rally in the hockey stadium is violation of Articles 3,5,9,16,24 and 24 of the constitution, the petitioner added.
He requested the court to cancel the permission letter allowing the PTI to hold a rally in the playground and suspend the permission till its final decision on the petition.
