Islamabad police arrest man for attempted rape

A man kidnapped a 13-year-old girl from the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS), Islamabad and attempted to rape her in his car when the latter raised hue and cry, making the man panicky who rushed back to the hospital to drop her and fled, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Karachi Company police registered the case against Qamar Abbas and managed to nab him from Mandi Bahauddin on Sunday. 

According to the text of the FIR registered, a 13-year-old girl had gone to PIMS along with her mother and maternal grandfather that they came across Abbas on the hospital lawns. 

He took both the mother and grandfather of the girl inside the hospital building on the pretext of providing them monetary assistance. 

Later, he lured the teenager to his car by telling her that he was taking her inside the building so that she could meet with her mother and grandfather. 

But instead of that, Abbas took her to a deserted place in his car and tried to rape her. 

When the girl screamed, he got panicky and raced towards the hospital to drop her. Later he fled to Mandi Bahauddin. 

Police identified the suspect with the help of footages obtained from the CCTV cameras installed at the hospital.
