Two wanted Afghan dacoits shot dead by Peshawar police

Two dangerous and wanted dacoits were killed during a police encounter in the limits of Pushtakhra police station on Sunday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Police informed that two dangerous dacoits Sherzai and Sherkai who were proclaimed offenders belonged to Afghanistan. They were wanted by the police in 13 serious crimes involving murder, attempt to murder and other heinous offences. They were also involved in extortion cases.
Police said that on a tip-off regarding dacoits’ presence, they launched an action in the vicinity of Nasir Bagh police station. Both traded fire and resultantly, a policeman Rahat got injured. Then the dacoits fled to Taj Abad cemetery in the limits of Pushtakhra police station and hid there.
When the police reached the cemetery today to hunt them down, the dacoits again opened fire on the police squad. Police retaliated and both the dacoits were killed by their firing.
Police shifted the dead bodies to a hospital for autopsy.
The cops recovered two pistols from their possession and also recovered a motorcycle which the slain dacoits used to commit crimes.
Police also took dacoits’ mobile phones in their custody for conducting a forensic analysis of the phones.
CCPO Abbas Ahsan said the dacoits were very dangerous as extortion and committing murder was their favourite pastime. He vowed to continue a crackdown against criminals.
