Three children were burnt to death while four were injured after a tent housing a flood-affected family in a surrounding village of Qambar in Sindh caught fire, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.
According to reports, Rashid Khoso and members of his family were sleeping inside their camp in Rab Rakho Lakho village when a burning candle led to the fire.
Consequently, four-year-old Ameer Khoso, seven-year-old girl Seehat and two-month-old baby girl Chahat were killed while Rashid Khoso, his brother Zameer Ali, mother Naseeban and wife Shabeeran were injured.
Later, Rashid told media men that he had moved to the camp along with his family after their home was washed away by floods in 2022. “We had to light a candle because my two-month-old daughter was awake,” he said, adding, “But unfortunately it led to a fire.”
He said that every household item had been reduced to ashes. “Even my motorcycle was burnt. We have been left with nothing. We are a poor family. I request the Sindh government and the district administration to help us,” he said.
