The federal government has decided to provide free electric bikes to the top 120 students of the Federal Board, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Thursday.
The fourth meeting of the Electric Vehicles Policy was held under the chairmanship of Federal Minister Rana Tanveer Hussain, in which the progress of construction of 40 charging stations on motorways and national highways was reviewed.
In the meeting, he announced that the federal government decided to provide free electric bikes to the top 120 students of the Federal Board.
Addressing the meeting, Rana Tanveer Hussain said that the CDA should install charging stations at all petrol pumps.
Federal Minister said 39,000 electric bikes and 1,900 electric rickshaws will be provided on concessional loans.
He further said that the entire process should be digitalized for transparency and according to the Prime Minister’s vision Islamabad will be made a model city.
The Electric Vehicles Policy will be announced very soon, he said.
