The victory in general elections of MQM-Pakistan senior leaders – Dr Farooq Sattar and Mustafa Kamal – was challenged in the Sindh High Court (SHC) on Monday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
In NA-242 Karachi constituency, MQM-P leader Mustafa Kamal was declared successful by the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP). Now PTI-backed independent candidate Dwa Khan Saber’s counsel Gibran Nasir advocate contended that under Form 45, Dwa Khan won the election with 53,000 votes. The rival candidate’s counsel pleaded that the results in Form 47 were changed and the seat was handed over to Mustafa Kamal.
He urged the court that the victory of Mustafa Kamal should be declared null and void.
Similarly, MQM leader Dr Farooq Sattar’s victory in NA-244 was also challenged in the Sindh High Court by PTI-backed independent candidate Aftab Jahangir.
The PTI-supported candidate pleaded that the results in Form 47 were changed and given to Dr Farooq Sattar. He urged the court to suspend the notification of Farooq Sattar’s victory in the constituency and order recounting.
