India has extended the visa of Bangladesh’s fugitive former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, a move that has drawn sharp criticism from Bangladesh's interim government, reported media outlets, 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Sunday.
According to the interim government, the visa extension lacks legal validity, as Sheikh Hasina's passport has already been revoked.
Media reports further highlight India's alleged intervention in Bangladeshi affairs from 1971 until the ousting of Sheikh Hasina.
Sheikh Hasina, who faces a series of serious allegations, has 31 cases registered against her, including 26 murder charges and four related to genocide.
Additionally, accusations of corruption and misconduct continue to cloud her legacy.
The extension of her visa has raised questions about India's involvement in Bangladeshi political affairs, with many in Bangladesh calling for transparency and accountability regarding the matter.
