Kh Asif claims he supports talks but has doubts on PTI’s intentions

Defence Minister says earlier PTI used to say absolutely not but looking to US

Defense Minister Khawaja Asif has said that he was supporter of talks with opposition but he has doubts on PTI’s intentions, reported 24NewsHDTV channel. 

Talking to media in Sialkot, Defense Minister said he was ready to swear that he was in favour of talks but after the tweets of Imran Khan, there was no room was talks (mazakraat). He added that still the government was keen in making the talks a success. 

He also demanded that Malik Riaz, real estate tycoon, should be taken to the task and brought before the court as Malik Riaz was the real beneficiary of 190 million pound scandal. 

He said tomorrow court is going to announce verdict in 190 million pound reference. He said in the past, the governments had faced corruption allegations but during the government of Imran Khan, corruption scandals were matchless. 

He said 190 million pounds were public money but PTI gave it back to Malik Riaz in an enclosed envelop. 

He said Malik Riaz has 600 billion fine in Karachi Bahira Town scandal. Instead of receiving fine amount, Imran Khan gave him 190 million pounds which UK government had returned to then government. He said in return of 190 million pound, Imran Khan got land for Al Qadir University in Sohava. Imran and his family is in the board of Directors of Al Qadir University. 

He said Pakistan’s ties with US are based on state to state basis. He first first PTI used to say absolutely not but now seeking US intervention. 

Earlier, Defense Minister distributed gifts and shields among the winners of Quaid Azam Trophy in Sialkot. The trophy was held between 18 regions. The final match was held between Karachi and Sialkot. Sialkot win the final after 16 years. 

On the occasion, Kh Asif claimed that Sialkot has many issues related to cricket. He demanded the help of Punjab government in this regard. He said once many teams used to visit Sialkot but now no one is turning up.
