Weather turns chillier in Lahore, other Punjab areas following rain

Different parts of central Punjab, including Lahore, received light to moderate rain on Saturday night and Sunday morning, which turned the weather chillier, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Different parts of Lahore, including Jain Mandir, Township, Samanabad, Shafiqabad, Band Road, Chowburgi and Mazang, received rain.

Besides that, showers were also reported from Minchanabad, Baseerpur, Kasur, Nankana Sahib, Pattoki, Arifwala, Sahiwal and Renala Khurd.    

Motorways closed due to fog

Fog in some parts of Punjab led to the closure of sections of the motorway, M-4 and M-5. 

Cold, dry weather predicted for most parts of country

The Met Office forecast extremely cold and dry weather for most parts of the country during the next 24 hours.  

It said that the weather would remain dry and bitterly cold in Islamabad and its outskirts, most parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), Balochistan and Gilgit-Baltistan (GB). 

Similarly, it predicted dense fog for Bannu, Lakki Marwat, Dera Ismael Khan and their outskirts in KP and for most districts of Punjab namely Mandi Bahauddin, Jhelum, Gujrat, Lahore, Sheikhupura, Kasur, Okara, Sahiwal, Sialkot, Narowal, Gujranwala, Rahim Yar Khan, Khanpur, Bahawalnagar, Bahawalpur, Pakpattan, Khanewal, Vehari, Faisalabad, Toba Tek Singh, Jhang, Dera Ghazi Khan and suburbs. 

The Met Office said that Murree, Galyat and their surrounding areas would receive light rain and light snow.
