Amid scorching heat, Pakistan government has taken a decision to install 16,000 feet astro turf in the courtyard of Gurdwara Kartarpur Sahib Narowal for the convenience of the coming Sikh pilgrims, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Sunday, quoting its sources.
It is pertinent to mention here that astro turf is an artificial grass surface used usually for sports fields.
This initiative will facilitate the Sikh pilgrims who will be travelling to the Kartarpur Corridor once the travelling restrictions due to COVID-19 are lifted.

Astro turf has been installed on 16,000 feet on various routes of the Kartarpur Corridor, sources maintained. “It will make it easier for Sikh pilgrims coming to Kartarpur to cross the routes for worship,” the TV channel said.
The Kartarpur Corridor is a visa-free border crossing connecting the Gurdwara Darbar Sahib in Pakistan to the border with India and allows Sikh devotees from India to visit the Gurdwara in Kartarpur. It was opened on 12 November, 2019, for Sikh pilgrims.
