First monsoon rains spell lashed Lahore, Karachi and other cities of central Punjab which turned the weather pleasant and also put problems for the citizens as reports of low-lying areas were inundated came in from various cities, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
In Lahore, people expressed their gratitude and joy over the first monsoon rain spell that will last for another two days, as per the weather office.

Capital metropolis saw cool breeze and thick clouds before monsoon rain started in different parts of the city, making the weather pleasant. The Lahore met office recorded a city temperature 27 degree Celsius and said rain showers are expected to continue intermittently in Kot Lakhpat, Green Town, Township and other areas of the city.
Lahore WASA Vice Chairman Sheikh Imtiaz said that staff and machinery are on high alert to clear the rain water from various areas of the city.
In Karachi, monsoon rain also lashed the city and inundated low lying areas and created difficulties for commuters and officer-goers.
The rain added difficulties for citizens, and to add insult to injury, K-Electric resumed the electricity load shedding in several areas of the port city including Baldia, Clifton, Defence and Surjani Town and Gaddap while power has now been resumed to Dahabay Ji.
K-Electric Spokesperson said that 500 feeders were disturbed or down due to the rain spell and 1400 feeders were working as usual.
As per the Karachi weather office, 17mm rain was recorded in Gulshan-e-Hadeed and 8mm in Nooriabad, 5mm rain was recorded in PAF Faisal, University Road while 4mm rain was recorded in Landhi and 3.6mm in Saadi Town, 3.2mm in Jinnah Terminal and 2.8mm in Surjani Town.
In Sialkot, low-lying areas of the city met with urban flooding and rainwater also entered houses.
Sialkot city lashed with monsoon rain and vehicles parked on the roads including some police vehicles were also hit by urban-flood waters.
The Sialkot administration has not been seen anywhere to help the citizens while residents of Shahabpura, Khadim Ali Road, Trunk Bazaar roads and dozens of other areas are literally facing pond-like situations in their respective areas.
Rain spell also continued in Narowal, Malakwal, Wazirabad, Kharian and Hafizabad.
As per Pakistan Met Office, Monsoon currents from Bay of Bengal approached to upper and central parts of the country and would further strengthen.
In the last 24 hours, rain-thunderstorms occurred in upper Punjab, Islamabad, central Balochistan, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Kashmir while hot and humid weather prevailed in other parts of the country.
