Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif Tuesday summoned a summary from the Ministries of Finance and Petroleum to reduce the price of petroleum products after the oil price decreased in the international market, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The PM summoned a summary for a reduction in oil prices while chairing a meeting at the PM Office.
“People have made sacrifices they should reap the benefits of this [reduction in oil price],” PM was quoted by Information Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb on Twitter.
PM has directed to make sure the reduction in POL prices in the international market should be transferred to the masses with complete transparency.
PM said that they would try to provide relief to the masses in the same way who are facing ballooning inflation inflicted upon them by the previous government.
He resolved that if Allah keeps bestowing his blessings, they will bring more ease t people’s life.
The meeting was attended by the representatives from OGRA as well as other related ministries and departments.
Earlier, Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) supremo Mian Nawaz Sharif had directed his party’s Finance Minister Miftah Ismail to reduce the petrol prices in Pakistan.
According to the 24News HD TV channel, former Prime Minister Mian Nawaz Sharif on Sunday expressed concern over the rising prices of petroleum products in Pakistan.
He directed his party’s federal minister for finance to reduce petrol prices by at least Rs15 per litre to provide immediate relief to the people.
