Five dead, nine injured in Lahore and Sheikhupura roof collapses

Due to heavy rains, five people, including a two-year-old kid, died and nine were injured in three different incidents of roof collapses in Sheikhupura and Lahore cities on Friday.

According to the 24NewsHD TV channel, four people lost their lives and seven were critically injured when a house roof collapsed in Sheikhupura and Lahore.

Rescue 1122 Sheikhupura District Officer Rana Ejaz Ahmed told the media that the incident occurred on Sharaqpur Road in the Siddiqia Colony area of Sheikhupura.

He said among the deceased were three women and one man. Rescue 1122 teams completed the rescue operation, retrieving all the injured and deceased from the rubble.

The injured were transferred to the District Headquarters Hospital in Sheikhupura, while the bodies were handed over to their families.

Due to heavy rain, another incident occurred in the village of Ghazi Minara in Shiekhupura, where two people were severely injured in a roof collapse.

In another incident in Lahore's Alhamra Town, a roof collapsed on Friday morning due to heavy rain. A 2-year-old child was killed, and one person was injured under the debris.
