Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) has opposed but its rival in Karachi politics Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) supported the Supreme Court’s decision declaring PTI eligible for allocation of seats reserved for women and minorities, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Addressing a news conference in Karachi on Friday, MQM-P leader Mustafa Kamal said “The verdict neither reflect law nor Constitution.”

The said the decision granted such a relief which was not sought. “It really hurts law, justice and the Constitution,” he added.

JI Amir Hafiz Naeemur Rahman welcomed the apex court’s verdict on reserved seats. “The election commissioner should now quit and go home,” he added.

The JI chief maintained that the SC decision has also exposed the double standards of some parties who were occupying these seats in clear contradiction to the voters’ mandate.
