The Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has joined the efforts to treat coronavirus patients through plasma therapy in Pakistan.
The national flag carrier will transport plasma domestically and internationally free of cost. PIA CEO Arshad Malik has said the national airline will work in coordination with the NIBD in this time of need. Malik said that people the PIA staff, who have recovered from coronavirus, will voluntarily donate their plasma for coronavirus patients at NIBD and its affiliate institutions. He said it is a matter of pride for the entire PIA family that it is becoming part of clinical trials involving plasma therapy in Pakistan.
Dr Tahir Shamsi said that transportation of plasma for treatment of coronavirus infection in these critical times is a praiseworthy step.
