The Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) flight PK-605 coming from Islamabad to Gilgit has escaped a disaster after bolt of the front landing gear came off.
24NewsHD TV channel quoting its sources reported that the Civil Aviation Authority has now grounded the plane and halted the back journey of the flight PK-606 from Gilgit to Islamabad.
When CAA Air Site inspected the runway, it was found that the nut-bolt of the aircraft’s tyre was lying on the runway.
The sources said that the PIA engineers were called in and asked to look into the problem.
The sources said that CAA and PIA engineers were checking the wheels of the aircraft.
It may be mentioned here that a PIA plane crashed in Karachi last month killing 97 passengers and crew and there were also reports that the landing gear of the plane was stuck before the landing at the airport.
