The airlines, both national and international, have raised their fare up to 50% making air travel all the more costlier, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Sunday.
Due to unstoppable appreciation in the value of dollar and free fall of Pakistani currency, the fuel prices have gone through the roof. The airlines which are buying expensive fuel have also decided to jack up their air fare.
The international and domestic airlines out of the blue have made a phenomenal increase in the prices of their tickets.
The rates of tickets for Great Britain, European countries, Turkey and several other exotic destinations have gone up by 50%.
The domestic air fares too did not lag behind in this price hike spree and raised their rates by Rs 28,000 to RS30,000 for all flights going from Karachi to Lahore and Islamabad.
International airfare
The PIA has increased the price of its economy class fare from Lahore to Toronto to Rs458,716. And the fare for executive economy class from Lahore to Toronto will be Rs667,000.
The price of PIA’s economy class round ticket from Lahore to Sharjah has raised to Rs113,927. While executive economy class ticket for the same route will cost Rs135,000.
The price of PIA’s round ticket (economy class) from Lahore to Damam has soared to Rs135,222.
The rate of PIA’s air ticket (economy class) from Lahore to Dubai has jacked up to Rs109,000.
Domestic airfare
The rate of PIA’s round ticket (economy class) from Lahore to Karachi has increased to Rs64,150. For the executive class the rate is Rs85,930.
The price of PIA air ticket (economy class) from Karachi to Islamabad has raised to Rs46,600 while for the executive class, the ticket will be available for Rs76,000.
