The Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) claimed on Sunday to have arrested a terrorist, said to be an important member of a banned outfit, foiling a major bid to disrupt peace of Quetta, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
According to the CTD spokesperson, the accused was held with a bomb planted in a motorcycle, and he also confessed to several acts of terrorism during interrogation.
Firearms, ammunition, and a remote control were also recovered from the possession of the accused.
“The accused also confessed to sectarian killings and attacks on police, Frontier Corps, Pakistan Army, and a politico-religious party,” the CTD claimed.
“There are eight people in the group of the accused,” it said, adding: “The accused has also confessed that he and his accomplices were planning to launch attacks on sensitive places including courts, police and Frontier Corps.”
