Announcing reopening of educational institutes, Sindh Education Minister Saeed Ghani has said matriculation examinations will commence on March 16.

The situation is under control, the minister told the media after a meeting with CM Murad Ali Shah in the chair.

He said: "The task force constituted by Sindh CM Murad Ali Shah, education department steering committee and educationists are on the same page. All arrangements for the resumption of educational activities are finalised.”

However, the minister said the decision can be reviewed if today’s task force meeting finds anything dangerous.

He said: “Since the government was unprepared, it decided to shut the schools last month.

The affected people are those who returned from abroad and they were shifted to a quarantine facility,” he said
