The fire that had engulfed a multi-storey commercial building near Sharae Faisal Nursery was finally put out on Sunday after the hectic efforts of four hours, reported 24NewsHD TV channel. 

Two snorkels and 12 tenders of the KMC participated in the fire extinguishing operation. 

A fire officer told media men that the signboards installed on the building resulted in the spread of blaze to the entire structure. 

One person was also injured in the fire. 

Soon after learning about the incident, Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori reached the site and inspected relief and rescue operation.

On the other hand, Assistant Commissioner Karachi-East Umama Solangi said that the operation against signboards installed on buildings would be sped up. 

Cause of the fire could not be ascertained till last reports came in, while police began investigating the case.
