Peshawar Zalmi beat Islamabad United by 13 runs in the 29th match of the eighth edition of Pakistan Super League (PSL).

Islamabad United could score 166 for 10 in chase of the 180-run target.

The defeat of Islamabad United has also ensured that the team will face Peshawar Zalmi again in the Eliminator 1 of PSL 8 that will be held on March 16.

Faheem Ashraf gave his side a glimmer of hope amid the loss of wickets with an explosive knock of 38 runs in 13 balls.

However, Zalmi’s Khurram Shahzad managed to bag the remaining wickets in the final over of the match.

Earlier, Peshawar Zalmi posted 179-8 in the allotted 20 overs.

Peshawar Zalmi’s opener Mohammad Haris scored 79 runs in 39 balls. He had hit seven fours and five sixes.

Bhanuka Rajapaksa contributed 41 runs in 25 balls. He had hit four fours and two sixes.

Islamabad United Pacer Hasan Ali bagged three wickets, whereas, captain Shadab Khan claimed two scalps for Islamabad.

The match between the two teams was played at Rawalpindi cricket stadium.
