Reiterating that the general elections held on February 8, 2024 were rigged, PTI Secretary General Omar Ayub Khan said on Monday that figures on Forms 45 of the PTI-backed independent candidates were changed on February 9 to deprive the party of the people’s mandate, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Addressing a press conference, he accused Inspector General of Police (IGP), Punjab Usman Anwar of acting like a servant of the Sharif family.

On the PTI’s countrywide protest demonstrations against rigging in the general elections held on Sunday, he said all those demonstrations were peaceful. “Our protests were within the limits laid down in relevant laws and the constitution,” Omar said, adding, “Our workers did not cause damage to any property.”

He said that the PTI denounced the registration of cases against party leaders Latif Khosa and Salman Akram Raja.

PTI secretary general said that nobody had forgotten the mindboggling inflation, which the people experienced during the first tenure of the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) parties’ government. “Now inflation will skyrocket in the second tenure of the government of the same parties,” he predicted.

Omar again claimed that the PTI-backed independent candidates had won 180 seats in the elections.
