Taking the notice of politicians recent statements, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) has said that the politicians should avoid giving controversial statements about the Pak Army and its leadership.
According to the 24News HD TV channel, the ISPR clarified that the Peshawar Corps is an illustrious formation of the army and it has been spearheading the war against terrorism for two decades.

ISPR DG Major Gen Babar Iftikhar stated that politicians have been passing unjustified remarks. He said: “For long, we have been stressing that the army should not be dragged into politics and debates on political affairs.”
“Our security challenges are enormous and our responsibilities are very important," he explained.
"Our officers and soldiers made a number of sacrifices to protect the motherland so that our nation could live safely and the country could move on the track to progress and prosperity peacefully,” he recalled.
“Unjustified talks are tantamount to making it controversial. Senior and seasoned politicians too second this stance. We have no involvement in the political affairs so we should be dragged into irrelevant affairs,” he reiterated.
“The procedure of appointment has been clarified in the constitution. Discussing this topic is tantamount to making it controversial,” the ISPR DG made it clear.
