Indian actor Asif Basra has reportedly committed suicide at the age of 53, Indian media reported Thursday.

The media reports said that the Bollywood actor ended his own life while staying at a private guest house in Himachel Pradesh.

A senior police official said: “Asif Basra committed suicide today morning. The body has gone for post-mortem. It will be done tomorrow. There is no suicide note."

Reports say that the actor had been living in a rented house for the last 5 years. His last TV appearance was in the second season of Disney+ Hotstar series Hostages.

Basra also starred as a senior executive in a media house in Amazon Prime’s Paatal Lok, which released earlier this year. He has also been seen in films such as Jab We Met, Once Upon a Time in Mumbaai, Krrish 3, Ek Villain and many others.

He also starred in foreign productions like Quicksand and Outsourced, apart from playing a cameo in One Night with the King.
