Sugar price shoots up to Rs130/kg

The price of sugar in major cities of the country has shot up to Rs130 per kg, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Thursday.
The price of sugar in Karachi and Quetta has gone up to Rs130 per kg, which was previously being sold at Rs90, said the Bureau of Statistics.
However, the sugar price in Khuzdar, Hyderabad and Larkana has reached Rs120 per kg, while reached Rs110 in Larkana.
Meanwhile, sugar is being sold at Rs100 per kg in Islamabad.
However, in Faisalabad, Bannu, Lahore, Rawalpindi, Sargodha, Sialkot, Gujranwala, Multan and Bahawalpur, the sweetener is being sold at Rs90 per kg.
It is pertinent to note that the price of sugar during the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government’s three years in power also saw an incessant increase as the commodity which was available for Rs55-59 per kg in 2018 and is now being sold at Rs130 per kg.
