As Lahore remained covered under the blanket of smog on Monday, the Air Quality Index (AQI) hit 1,265 in the city.
At 9:30pm on Monday, PM2.5 concentration in Lahore was 141 times the WHO annual air quality guideline value.
As a result of severe smog in the city, visibility on the roads decreased considerably. The AQI level in different areas of the city on Monday was extremely high. AQI level at CCRP Office was 2419, Syed Maratab Ali Road 2159, US Consulate Lahore 1601, Revenue Employees Housing Society 1551, Johar Town Block A 1466, UET 1366 and Ghazi Road Interchange 1282. Lahore recorded the highest AQI level on Monday this season so far.
