In view of a recent incidents of terrorism in the country, especially that which took place near Karachi’s Jinnah International Airport, Pakistan Airports Authority has taken some important decisions to beef up the security of the Karachi airport, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.
Sources told 24News TV channel that now those going to the airport either to escort or receive the passengers would have to keep a copy of the ticket with them which they would have to show to the security personnel whenever they would be asked.
Any person, not possessing the ticket’s copy, would not be allowed to enter the airport’s premises.
Similarly, they informed, it had also been made mandatory for those receiving passengers at the airport to keep their computerized national identity cards (CNICs) with them as well, which they would have to show to the security staff.
Sources further said that a decision had also been taken that only four people would be allowed to accompany a passenger to the airport.
They said that implementation on these decisions would start soon.
