Balochistan Governor Syed Zahoor Agha, who had reached Islamabad on Monday to hold consultations with senior government officials over no-trust move against Balochistan Chief Minister Jam Kamal, is expected to meet Prime Minister Imran Khan today, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.
Sources told 24News that Agha would brief PM Imran about the current political situation in Balochistan.
Furthermore, they added, it was also expected that the prime minister might assign special assignment to the governor to sort out the political mess in Balochistan.
On the other hand, three ‘estranged’ members of the Balochistan Assembly, including Speaker Abdul Qudoos Bizenjo, Zahoor Buledi and Sardar Abdur Rehman Khetran will reach Islamabad from Quetta today to hold meetings with senior government officials.
A no-trust motion against Balochistan Chief Minister Jamal Kamal was tabled in the provincial assembly’s secretariat on September 14.
According to the 24NewsHD TV channel, the motion was submitted on behalf of 16 lawmakers from the opposition parties.
Reportedly, differences between the group of Balochistan Assembly Speaker Abdul Qudoos Bizenjo and Chief Minister Jam Kamal had been intensifying for quite some time.
The tension had further escalated last month (August) when Bizenjo made remarks against Jam and expressed reservations during Assembly proceedings.
His action prompting a strong reaction from the incumbent members of the provincial government.
CM Kamal called a meeting of his allies to take action against the speaker and bring a no-confidence motion against him. In a statement, the chief minister said: "He (the assembly speaker) should pay attention to his constituency where he has not visited even once in three years. Anyone who can't run their own constituency or Assembly should keep their childish advice to himself and focus on his work instead.”
