Police in Lahore have arrested three more associates of Rambo, boyfriend of TikToker Ayesha Akram Beg, following the latter’s statement against him in which she had accused him of blackmailing her, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.
Police say the total number of Rambo’s colleagues arrested so far now stands at 11.
According to the Force, all suspects have been handed over to the CIA City.
Ayesha, the TikToker, had been molested by a mob of around 400 men, mostly youth, at Greater Iqbal Park on August 14, the country’s Independence Day.
The incident not only drew criticism from all segments of the society but was also covered by the international media putting under spotlight incidents of sexual harassment of women in Pakistan under the spotlight.
A day earlier, shocking audiotapes of Ayesha and her partner Rambo, the main characters in the Greater Iqbal Park case, were unearthed in which Rambo and Ayesha kept talking about dealing about demanding money from the arrested accused, and later both indulged in arguments.
The conversation between Ayesha Akram and Rambo has started getting viral in the form of various audiotapes. Some videos have also come to light which have caused differences between Ayesha and Rambo. A tape of a conversation between the two about taking money from the accused identified in the jail came to light, in which a 25-second conversation took place between the two on a telephone call. In the tape, Rambo and Ayesha were heard negotiating money. Similarly, in another audio, Rambo was heard blackmailing Ayesha in which he was threatening to make Ayesha's videos viral.
Sources said that after the same audio, the differences between Ayesha and Rambo reached their peak and Ayesha got Rambo arrested.
Police officials said the videos and audios were being sent for forensic test and after which the case would be further investigated.
