Benazir Income Support Program (BISP) Wednesday distributed relief funds to 2.6 million families affected by the devastations of the flood, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
According to the BISP spokesperson, relief funds of more than 65 billion rupees have been distributed to the affected families across the country to date.
Financial aid of Rs25000 has been provided to the flood-affected families by the BISP and this amount is being distributed under the Flood Relief Cash Assistance program by Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
The Benazir Income Support Program representative said that almost Rs45 billion have been distributed to 1.8 million affected families in Sindh and More than 2 lakh affected families of Balochistan have been provided more than 5 billion rupees.
Rs7 billion 40 lakh have been paid to 3 lakh families of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, whereas more than Rs8 billion was distributed to 3 lakh 20 thousand families in Punjab and an amount of 1 crore 10 lakhs was released for the 442 families in Gilgit-Baltistan, said BISP spokesperson.
In the end, he said that the Support Program is ensuring transparency in the disbursement of funds.
