Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan Wednesday confessed that he was a “puppet” prime minister, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Talking to the senior journalists in Lahore, he claimed he was ‘effectively powerless’ during his stint in office.

Imran Khan admitted to being powerless by saying “the responsibility was mine but the rule was someone else's.

“Had he been able to exercise half the powers he had as prime minister during his three-and-a-half-year tenure then he would have competed with Sher Shah Suri”, he vowed.

Former prime minister said while all responsibility rested with him during his stint power was wielded elsewhere.

He said when his government would nab billionaire tax defaulters they would approach others and directions would stand tweaked.

However, before coming to power Imran Khan had always said that he didn’t want to become a PM without any authority. He said he did not want to be a PM who was being driven by dictation from the establishment and could not implement his manifesto.

However, it seems now that he preferred to become a puppet prime minister instead of remaining steadfast on his principles.

Rulers a security threat

Khan said that he is doing the long march because he considers the incumbent rulers a security threat to the country.

Addressing a seminar in Islamabad on Wednesday, he said that he had decided not to give any position to those who were stacking assets out of the country.

He said that there was a simple case against Shehbaz Sharif for an illegal transaction of Rs 16 billion rupees. “Their cases were waived and NRO was given to them for committing more robberies”, he said adding that the rulers changed the law of the country just to save their theft.

He asked where did the Sharif family get the money to buy Avenfield? Those who were handlers of the corrupts knew everything, he added.

Meanwhile, addressing a doctors' forum, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf Chairman said that doctors are opinion leaders in every society.

They enjoy a prestigious place in our society and patients always talk to doctors who do not talk to anyone else even, he added. He urged them to participate in his call to wage jihad against the corrupt rulers.

PTI Chairman said that if he had stacked money abroad he would not have the courage to say ‘absolutely’ not to anybody.

Imran Khan criticized the government’s economic policies and said that a slowdown in the economy will result in more unemployment and it will become more difficult for the salaried class to make ends meet.
