The Anti-Human Trafficking Circle in Lahore, under the directive of Director FIA Lahore Zone Sarfaraz Work, has executed major operations resulting in the arrest of two suspects engaged in this heinous crime, reported 24newsHd TV channel Wednesday.
The apprehended individuals, Abdul Shakoor Sabir and Rasheed Ahmed, are now in custody, marking a significant breakthrough in the fight against illegal human smuggling.
Abdul Shakoor Sabir was arrested at Lahore High Court, while Rasheed Ahmed was apprehended in Lahore after his bail was cancelled just before his arrest. The arrests come after it was revealed that Abdul Shakoor paid a substantial amount of 30 lakh rupees to facilitate the illegal immigration of a citizen to the United States, while Rasheed Ahmed stole 350,000 rupees with the promise of sending another citizen to the United Arab Emirates.
Despite the financial transactions, the accused failed to fulfil their promises of transporting victims to their desired countries. Investigations have unveiled that the accused were operating without the necessary licenses, receiving money under the false pretense of providing legal and secure means of international travel.
Deputy Director of the Anti-Human Trafficking Circle Lahore, Riaz Khan, has established special squads to intensify efforts in arresting human traffickers. The crackdown is part of a broader initiative guided by Director Sarfaraz Work to curb the rising trend of illegal human smuggling in the region.
