PIA acquires $9 million Airbus simulator from Britain to train its pilots

The Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has acquired from Britain an advanced Airbus A320 simulator to train its pilots on modern lines, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Thursday.

After the acquisition of first Airbus A320 simulator, the national airline now possesses three simulators.

According to a PIA spokesperson, the newly-bought simulator is worth nine million dollars.

Sources said pilots belonging to the national as well as private airlines have already started benefitting from the simulator.

The PIA spokesperson said pilots are being trained about how to deal with weather situations during landing and take-off.

This was the airline could save thousands of dollars being spent on pilots training abroad, the PIA said adding it will also earn by imparting training to the private airlines in the country.
