Islamabad police on Friday finalized a security plan for Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
According to the plan, around 7,720 personnel of Islamabad police will perform their duties on different locations, while 800 personnel from Pakistan Rangers will also be deputed to beef-up security.
All personnel of law-enforcement agencies (LEAs) will perform their duties in two shifts while a search operation will be conducted in the area before the SCO summit.
Officials and personnel from Pakistan Army, Pakistan Rangers, and other sensitive departments will be deputed around hotels and venue of the conference.
These personnel will perform their duty on routes of diplomats, and law-enforcers will also put on alert on the roofs of petrol pumps, wedding halls and other tallest building of the area.
These LEAs personnel will not be allowed to use personal vehicle to reach place of duty. No protest or agitation will be allowed on the day of conference.
All the traffic will be closed during movement on VVIP routes. A six-layer security system constituted for security of Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit.
Entry of heavy transport in twin cities banned
Government banned entry of goods and heavy vehicles in twin cities (Rawalpindi and Islamabad) during Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit from October 14, 2024 to October 16, 2024.
A notification issued by Deputy Commissioner Rawalpindi to Rawalpindi Regional Transport Authority stated that implementation on restriction of long and heavy vehicles must be ensured.
