Khalid Bizenjo of Balochistan Awami Party (BAP) was elected as a senator on Saturday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

This Senate seat got vacant after the death of National Party leader Hasil Bizenjo.

Khalid Bizenjo grabbed the seat by obtaining 38 votes for which the polling was held in the Balochistan Assembly in Quetta.

The runner-up was Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam’s Ghausullah who obtained 21 votes. 

Out of total 64 votes, 61 were cast and two were rejected.
