Foreign Minister (FM) Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said on Monday that the great sacrifice given by the ‘martyrs’ of Khairpur Nathan Shah during the Movement for the Restoration of Democracy (MRD) under General Zia’s martial law was simply unforgettable, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

In his message on the eve of the 39th death anniversary of the PPP activists, who laid down their lives in struggle against the military rule, Bilawal, who is also the PPP chairman, paid rich tributes to them and vowed to strengthen democracy in the light of the vision of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, former premier Zulfikar Ali Bhutto (ZAB) and his daughter, also a former prime minister Benazir Bhutto (BB).

Bilawal said that the occasion reminded us of the tough struggle and tests the PPP leadership had to go through for getting the people their rights.

He went on to say that he was very much aware that just like other parts of Sindh, Khairpur Nathan Shah had also been badly affected by floods. “And I will not rest until and unless I provide relief to those displaced by the natural calamity,” he vowed.
