Former Gilgit Baltistan (GB) chief judge Rana Shamim Monday submitted an unconditional apology to the Islamabad High Court (IHC) in the contempt of court case, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

IHC Chief Justice Athar Minallah conducted a hearing on the case. Rana Shamim appeared before the court along with his lawyer Latif Afridi.

“We have submitted an unconditional apology. Our unconditional apology should be accepted,” Latif Afridi pleaded with the court.

“Have you submitted an affidavit with an unconditional apology?” the chief justice asked from Rana Shamim’s lawyer.

He also offered a seat to the former GB chief judge.

“If you criticise the decisions of this court, this court will not take notice. But, when the dispensation of justice is made controversial, notice will be taken,” the chief justice said.
