The Punjab cabinet has approved Rs32,000 minimum salary for a labourer in the province, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
For the first time in the provincial history, the meeting of the Punjab cabinet was held in Multan on Monday. A 39-point agenda was presented in the meeting.
Caretaker Punjab Chief Minister Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi was given briefing on the development projects and road infrastructure projects in South Punjab.
The cabinet approved the minimum salary of a labourer at Rs32,000 directing the authorities to implement the order.
During the meeting, the agenda of the vice chancellor of Pir Mehr Ali Shah Agriculture University, Rawalpindi was presented.
Besides this, names of the recipients of the Quaid-e-Azam Police Medals and Presidential Police Medals were suggested.
The provincial cabinet also took up the agendas pertaining to the reconstitution of Board of Directors of Punjab Health Foundation, amendment to Punjab Mental Health Act of Punjab Mental Health Authority and 200-bed Centre of Excellence Gynecology in Rawalpindi.

Punjab CM creates great example of austerity
Meanwhile, the Punjab government has created a great example of austerity as all the provincial ministers reached Circuit House, Multan to attend the cabinet meeting in a coaster.
Chief Minister Syed Mohsin Naqvi paid the travel expenses of his cabinet members from his own pocket.
