Another police officer deployed to guard a team of polio vaccinators was martyred in an attack by unidentified people in Bannu on Thursday morning, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The gunmen targeted the polio team near Mohajir Camp in Tehsil Domail and opened indiscriminate firing on them.
As a result of the firing, police constable Noor Alam Jan died on spot while the gunmen escaped from the crime scene.
Rescue 1122 personnel shifted the body to a hospital for post-mortem.
On Wednesday, unknown assailants opened fire on a polio vaccination team, resulting in the death of a policeman and a polio worker in Bajaur.
Police officer’s Hujra bombed
A Hujra (sitting room) belonging to police inspector Ghulam Muhammad Khan, who is also a member of the peace committee, was blown up with explosives in Lakki Marwat on Thursday morning.
However, no one was injured in the explosion which occurred in Dabak Mandrakhel area.
