PTI leader and Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly (NA) Omar Ayub Khan said on Thursday that the Islamabad inspector general of police (IGP) had said that NA Speaker Ayyaz Sadiq was fully aware of the arrests of PTI MNAs from inside the Parliament House, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Talking to the media at the Parliament House, Omar, while quoting the IGP, said what had happened on that day was according to the law.
“Three FIRs had been registered against me. I had to seek protective bail from the Peshawar High Court (PHC). It is strange that FIRs were registered against the leader of the opposition,” he lamented.
PTI stalwart said the first case was registered against him on the complaint of Malik Imtiaz. “Imtiaz had left the PTI a year ago and joined the PML-N. He had six months back,” he informed.
He said this was his first appearance in the assembly after the PTI rally at Sangjani, Islamabad.
