The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has further tightened the noose around estranged PTI leader Jahangir Khan Tareen’s neck and asked him to submit the money trail of his properties in the United Kingdom and receipts of purchase of the agricultural land in Pakistan. The FIA has directed Tareen to submit answers to all eight questions by tomorrow (April 13).
On the other hand, differences within the ruling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) over action against Tareen are growing stronger. Prime Minister Imran Khan has refused to meet the 30 PTI leaders who are supporting Tareen. Keeping in view the prevailing situation, the PTI was considering setting up a three member committee to sort out the differences between the two sides. It was suggested that the 30 PTI representatives of the Tareen group should meet the three-member committee before meeting the prime minister. However, PTI lawmakers rejected this proposal.
In a related development, supporters of the Tareen group hosted a reception in his honour in Multan. PML-N MPA Atta-ur-Rehman also attended the reception.
