In order to frustrate PDM’s possible no-trust move against Azad Jammu and Kashmir government, the PTI has decided to sacrifice its own Prime Minister Sardar Abdul Qayyum Niazi, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Former prime minister and PTI Head Imran Khan on Wednesday while giving approval of the no-confidence motion against his party’s AJK premier, also suggested name for the new chief executive of the valley.

PTI Secretary General Asad Umar wrote a letter to AJK Assembly speaker in this regard. According to the letter, Sardar Tanveer Ilyas would be the PTI contender for the premiership. The AJK assembly session would be convened on April 15.

Imran Khan has instructed all MLAs of the party in this connection.

The PDM wanted to bring a no-confidence motion in the AJK assembly with the help of estranged members of the ruling PTI.

After the general elections in AJK in July 2021 in which PTI was emerged as the largest party, Sardar Tanveer Ilyas was the strongest candidate for premiership but Imran Khan installed Qayyum Niazi as prime minister of the AJK.

PTI MLAs were of the view that the party would not have to see this day if Imran Khan had made right decision.

In its reaction, the PPP AJK said on Tuesday that they along with PML-N would table their own no-confidence motion against Abdul Qayyum Niazi.

PPP AJK Central Deputy Information Secretary Shaukat Javed Mir said the PTI had itself expressed no-confidence against its own government. “We will oust this government which was imposed on us through rigging,” he added.

Sardar Abdul Qayyum Niazi was sworn in as the 13th prime minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir in August 2021.

Imran summons Qayyum Niazi to discuss motion

Meanwhile, PTI Chairman Imran Khan has summoned AJK Prime Minister Sardar Abdul Qayyum Niazi against whom the party is bringing no-trust move, to meet him immediately at Bani Gala.

Sources said Imran Khan would discuss no-confidence motion and other political affairs with Mr Niazi.

They would also discuss complaints about Ali Amin Gandapur and Sardar Tanveer Ilyas, sources concluded.

Qayyum Niazi says conspiracy hatched against his govt

In a dramatic turn of events, AJK PM Niazi during his telephonic conversation with PTI Chairman Imran Khan complained to him that a big conspiracy was hatched against his government. He apprised Imran that whatever the latter was told against him, was not true.

Mr Niazi alleged that a deal of billions of rupees was struck between former minister Ali Amin Gandapur and AJK senior minister Tanveer Ilyas to oust him.

He told Imran Khan that he would prove conspiracy against him.
