Randhawa, Sumair Ahmed appointed PSOs to PM Shehbaz

Muhammad Ali Randhawa (PAS) and Sumair Ahmed Syed (PAS) have been appointed as Principal Staff Officers (PSO) to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.

Muhammad Ali Randhawa has served as director general of Excise and Taxation Punjab and Interior Secretary in Gilgit Baltistan while Sumair Ahmed Syed has served as deputy commissioner of Lahore. 

Moreover, DIG Humayun Bashir Tarar a grade-20 officer of Police Service of Pakistan (PSP) in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has been directed to report to the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA).

Section Officer Waseem Ahmed serving at the Education Division has been transferred to the Prime Minister Office as Deputy Secretary.

The establishment division has notified the transfers and postings.

Shehbaz Sharif had already selected Dr Syed Tauqeer Hussain Shah (BPS-21) as his Principal Secretary. Shah qualified from civil services 1991 of 18th Common batch.

Shah has already served as principal secretary to Shehbaz Sharif when he was Punjab chief minister.

Shehbaz Sharif has also sought the High Powered Selection Board meeting at the end of the current month April to promote bureaucrats from grade-21 to grade-22. The year 2021 was left without holding a single meeting of the important High Powered Selection Board.

The last meeting of the High Powered Selection Board was convened on 20th October, 2020.

Earlier, Dr Muhammad Suhail Rajput secretary information technology, was appointed as new Chief Secretary of Sindh as Mumtaz Ali Shah retired on March 31.
