Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Lucky Marwat Police have killed 3 terrorists and injured several others during a search and strike operation against terrorists in the areas, reported 24NewsHDTV Channel.
On the directives of IG Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Zulfiqar Hameed, police force were conducting search operations at district level to eradicate terrorism across the province.
However, in Lakki district police was facing more cowardly acts of terrorists, to which the Lakki police are responding vigorously and effectively.
On the reported presence of terrorists within the limits of Police Station Tajuri, the local police and peace committee chased the terrorists. On receiving information, a contingent of Lakki police, CTD and special quick response force led by District Police Officer Lakki, reached the spot and started a search operation in which the local peace committee and local people actively participated. During the operation, an encounter was held with 20 to 25 terrorists in the forest located in Khankhel Mandzai, within the boundaries of police stations Tajuri and Bargai. Heavy weapons were used by both sides in the two-hour battle. The police fought bravely and killed 3 terrorists in the crossfire without suffering any casualties. A search operation is underway in the area after several others escaped after being injured.
Citizens of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa launched a firm resistance alongside security forces in the ongoing war against terrorism. During the past two days, residents from various parts of the province played a pivotal role by thwarting the attacks of the terrorist group Fitna Al-Khawarij, either forcing them to flee or eliminating them on the spot. According to security sources, the terrorists attempted to infiltrate border villages of Dera Ismail Khan and Dera Ghazi Khan. Local villagers, through a swift and robust reaction, compelled the attackers to retreat from the area.
Following the incident, elders of nearby villages convened a large gathering on 13 April, during which they decided not to permit any terrorist to enter their settlements. In the Bachkan Ahmadzai area of Lakki Marwat, security forces, police, and the Village Defence Committee jointly conducted an operation and killed three terrorists belonging to Fitna Al-Khawarij. The militants tried to enter the locality by force, but their plot was foiled.
On 13 April, terrorists attacked homes of police personnel in the Toi Khullah area of South Waziristan and attempted to abduct them. The local population and police collectively engaged in a fierce response that resulted in the deaths of three attackers. Security forces arrived at the site and took custody of the deceased terrorists’ bodies.
According to the experts, these three incidents confirmed that the public would not hesitate to make any sacrifice for the peaceful future of their children. They added that this determination of the citizens and forces had infused new spirit in the soldiers of the Pakistan Army, who had rendered countless sacrifices in the war against terrorism.
They remarked that this united front conveyed a clear message to Fitna Al-Khawarij: the vigilant people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and the security forces would eradicate terrorism together.
Interior Minister Syed Mohsin Naqvi has lauded Lakki Marwat police and locals for foiling terror attack by Fitna Al-Khawarij. He lauded security forces and local elders for joining hands in war against terror.
