Ramzan, a constable embraced martyrdom in Lahore, 24NewsHD TV Channel reported on Thursday.

Constable Ramzan flagged down two suspects at Bhatti Chowk but they fired shots at the cop, a spokesperson for the police department said.

The official sources said the two gunmen were fleeing after committing a dacoity when they had an encounter with the policemen.

DIG Operations Sajid Kiyani took notice of the incident and directed the SP City to bring the culprits to book at the earliest.

He paid rich tributes to the martyred cop, saying his sacrifice would not go in vain. He reiterated the resolve to protect the public at all costs. 

The DIG directed the Operations Wing to track down the culprits through the CCTV footage. A case has been registered and a hunt for the culprits is on.
