Pakistan Friday announced to relax its visa policy for saving the lives of foreign journalists stranded in Afghanistan.
According to the 24News HD TV channel, the announcement was made by Federal Interior Minister Sheikh Rasheed Ahmad.
The federal minister said that Pakistan had decided to relax its visa policy for journalists and media workers stranded in Afghanistan keeping in view the changing situation in the neighbour country.
Sheikh Rasheed announced that the international journalists and media workers who wanted to leave Afghanistan via Pakistan were urged to apply for a Pakistani visa.
He ensured the foreign journalists and media workers that the Interior Ministry of Pakistan would issue visas to the international media persons on a priority basis.
The federal minister said that the announcement of the visa waiver by Pakistan was being made in view of the safety of journalists and media workers working in Afghanistan.
